Britain’s Mining Disaster Survivor Gives Advice To Chilean Miners
Britain’s very own mining disaster survivor Dickie Mint gave valuable advice to the Chilean miners released today after 69 days trapped underground. Dickie was the first person to be sent down to the miners and was shocked at the conditions they were living in.
“At first it took some time to accustom my eyes to the poor light. The miners looked so hairy and ugly I thought I was in some kind of Carlos Tevez breeding club!”
Dickie Mint who himself was trapped for 3 days during the Knotty Ash, Jam Butty mining disaster of 1978 was on hand to give advice to rescue workers during the final hours of the rescue. Unlike the Chilean miners however, Mr Mint was forced to eat his fellow miner Ken Dodd during his three day ordeal.
Thankfully the Chilean miners did not resort to such a thing but rumours abound that things did happen that will never be revealed.
