Birmingham City And Aston Villa Supporting The 2018 Bid

Birmingham City and Aston Villa fans denied today they were fighting with each other last night. Fans from the two rival teams stated that they were just trying to help with the England 2018 World Cup bid in Zürich.

This news was reported after both sets of fans added their fine support at the end of Wednesday nights Carling Cup tie by trying to rip the heads of each other. As for the throwing of flares by both City and Villa fans, that was explained as merely the passing of a torch of hope amongst the fans an nothing to do with any violence at all.

Steve ‘the mallet’ Davies an ardent Villa fan spoke out against last nights actions, “We just want to add our voice to the bid for 2018 and let fans from other countries see what a warm welcome they can expect to receive from us if England’s bid is successful”

Big Ron ‘Feltcher’ Barns, who supports the Blues also denied the City a Villa fans had done anything wrong. “We were just enjoying the moment with our closes rivals. And to prove it a group of us City fans are arranging to meet the Villa behind the gasworks this Saturday afternoon to shake hands.”
