Government Forced To Make U-Turn On School Sports

Michael Gove was forced to stand outside the Prime Ministers room today after he was forced to make a U-turn over the governments school sports policy.

Tory Michael Gove, the Education Secretary, suffered great embarrassment in back-tracking over his pledge to bin Labour’s flagship school sports programme.

The 43-year-old revealed he would now restore almost half the £162million of funding for a nationwide network of PE teachers, the so-called School Sports Partnerships, instead of scrapping it altogether.

The volte-face was welcomed by schoolchildren, former ministers and Olympic champions who feverishly fought the cuts and petitioned against them since they were announced by Mr Gove two months ago.

Mr Gove was forced to wear his old school PE kit which thankfully for him and the rest of the Prime Ministers staff he had in his briefcase, otherwise he would have been forced to wear just his vest and underpants.

The Education Secretary was last seen standing against the door frame of Mr Cameron’s closed office door. Apparently he was clutching his crotch and crossing his legs whilst making high pitched screetching noises as a large damp patch formed in his shorts. Onlookers have declared that they couldn’t tell the difference from the way he normally acts whilst speaking in parliament.
