News In Brief: Manchester United Blunder

Manchester United have confirmed that a spelling error was made on their official site for their 2012/13 team photo. This error follows a similar one on the back of Anderson’s shirt when he came on as a substitute against Everton last month when  his name had wrongly been spelt as Andesron.

Last year, club officials were left red-faced after an error was made when the ‘S’ on the new  Sir Alex Ferguson tribute stand was installed upside down.

This time the club issued a PC wallpaper with a ‘Manchster United’ banner.

Sir Alex looking more red in the face than usual was less than happy upon hearing what had happened.

“I thought I was either pished or needing new gecks from the opticians every time I looked at that new stand.” Sir Alex said amongst a flurry of expletives.

The latest clanger was confirmed by the club on Friday, although the press office insisted the photo ‘didn’t go up for very long’. Thankfully the error was noticed in time and a new PC wallpaper image was posted online to replace the incorrect one.
